In class we will review the multiple choice section from Friday as well as closely review Didion's "On Keeping a Notebook".
For homework read George Orwell's "Politics and the English Language" and "A General Summary of Aristotle's Appeals". Be prepared to discuss both in detail for class. ALSO....Don't forget your narrative essays are due tomorrow!!!
Wednesday:
In class we will discuss Orwell's essay as well as the rhetorical appeals (logos, ethos, pathos)
For homework read Orwell's "Why I Write"
Thursday:
In class we will discuss "Why I Write" and review your next take home essay which is due 9/21
For homework read Joan Didion's "Why I Write"
Friday:
In class discussion of Didion's "Why I Write" as well as any other loose ends we need to tie up...If we stay on track with our deadlines this week there will be reason to celebrate!
Also we will begin college essays next week and you will have a draft due on Monday.
Finally....Welcome Back Dance is Friday night! Be there!
